Great setting...The Plough is set in the beautiful village of Wistanstow, near Church Stretton & Craven Arms. The Plough is a traditional country pub, offering good food and real ale in a family environment. Ideally situated in the centre of the Shrophshire Hills Area of Outstanding Beauty, the Plough makes for a perfect spot for families, walkers, cyclists, foodies and beer lovers to stop for a bite to eat and a pint! Whether you are eating in our recently renovated dining area or just a quick pint, The Plough always offers a warm welcome. In the bar you can play pool, darts, dominoes and watch the football on TV with a lovely pint of Woods! We also have wi-fi for anyone needing to keep connected.
Great food...Coming from rural backgrounds ourselves, we appreciate the importance of having top quality food produced on our door step. We use responsible local producers and support businesses in the area which ensures the produce we use is of the highest quality and freshness, whilst reducing food miles. Consequently, our menu changes seasonally with a regularly updated specials boards offering mouth watering dishes such as our popular duck breast with a rhubarb and ginger sauce or spring lamb casserole with asparagus, mange tout and baby carrots.
Great beer and wine! The Plough adjoins the renowned Wood's Brewery and we offer a selection of their finest traditional beers including their top selling Shropshire Lad, local's favourite Parish Bitter and award winning Pot of Gold. Seasonal Specials are also available on draft including Hopping Mad, Summer Delight and Christmas Cracker. We also have access to a fantastic range of quality wines from Tanners.
